Trekking to Maunga Terevaka Caves

About 7-8-hours

A vehicle will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the Vaitea Estate area, from where your ascent to the Terevaka volcano will begin. The summit is over 500 meters above ground level (over 1649 feet) and from there you are able to enjoy a panoramic view of 360° and see the curvature of the Earth on the horizon. All in all, a spectacular experience!

Then you will begin your descent and reach the Akivi area, where you will enjoy a snack and get a few minutes rest before continuing your trekking towards the Ana Te Pahu caves (also known as the ‘Banana cave’). Your day will then finish with a visit to the Ana Kakenga cave (also known as the ‘two-window cave’.) Ride back to the hotel.
